Getting started (Spotlight Cloud in your organization)
Follow these instructions to set up Spotlight Cloud to monitor the performance of the databases in your organization.
To monitor connections to a SQL Server environment, install the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server application
The Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server application is installed on a Windows server (on-premise or in the cloud). It collects data from connections monitored through the Spotlight Cloud subscription type SQL Server, and transmits that data to the cloud. The application can be used to configure the Diagnostic Server and monitoring settings such as for alarms and alarm actions and to add and remove monitored connections.
Requirements of the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server host
The Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server requires internet access. Consider installing the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server application on a host server with an always-on internet connection.
